So This is What Being Outside Feels Like…I Wanna Go Back Inside!

Feeling very guilty for the lack of going ANYWHERE this summer, I knew I just had to take the kids out for a Family Day asap and, luckily, my friend Peggy from Philly Parent Circle was hosting a Celebration of Play event at Smith Play Place. It also happened to be on the same day as a birthday party for one of BG1‘s friends, so I thought, PERFECT!

We had so much fun and it is a really nice place to take your kids. They have very different and modern kinds of jungle gyms/play areas for the kids and it’s very clean. There were these contraptions where you hold on to it and it spins you around, very fun, The Hubbi & BG1 didn’t wanna get off. There are plenty of swings and play areas so you won’t get frustrated if there’s a huge crowd. I loved how there were so many swings!

The best part would have to be the Giant Wooden Slide. BG1 went on that thing about 10 times before we had to tell her to stop. We each tried it once ourselves too and let me tell you, I haven’t been on a slide in ages so it was a rush for me (sigh, my life is dull). I loved it!

Yes, for Christmas, I would like a Giant Wooden Slide in my backyard, please! Thank you!

I think the only downside was that at the end we took a family picture and I didn’t notice it until just now, but some dumb ass guy in the background totally messed up what would have been a perfect family picture! And if you follow me on Facebook or Twitter, you’d know how I was lamenting that we barely have any family pictures as it is! ARGH! So upset!

Anyways, next up was bowling. I haven’t been in ages and after seeing all the kids play, it made me really wanna go again. Girls Night!

I love watching the kids bowl because it’s so funny seeing them try to pick up a heavy bowling ball and either throw or roll it down the lane. It’s also hilarious, and a bit of torture, waiting for that slow ball to finally make it to the pins! I swear, I just wanted to run down the lane and give it a big push so it would move faster. All the while, BG1 and her friends were happily dancing and singing to the bowling alley music. Ahh, to be a kid again!
