Back when I was still pregnant, we were debating whether or not to get another diaper pail. With BG1 we had the Playtex Diaper Genie and even though it worked okay, it didn’t always contain the smells like we wanted and working the refillable bags was a pain. We decided to just wing it and throw the diapers in the trash and dispose at will.
That didn’t work out so well.
You could smell those stinky diapers a mile away and we’d constantly have to rely on the good ole’ Fabreeze to take the smell away. So we decided to give the diaper pail another try and thankfully came across Munchkin’s Arm & Hammer Diaper Pail, which seemed to be the biggest competitor of the Diaper Genie.
At first I was pretty skeptical, since I didn’t really know what the difference was. But, I’m happy to say that I’m extremely impressed and wish I had chosen Munchkin the first time around. I love this thing!
Not only is it easy to work, but it really just contain the smell.
When you first open it, it comes with a bag already in place. All you have to do is place the Arm & Hammer container on the lid, and you’re good to go.
Easy, peasy steps to a fresh room:
- With a simple push of a button you lift the lid
- Place the diaper inside the bag
- Close the lid, which automatically twists the bag, seals in the diapers, and releases a tiny sprinkle of A&H baking soda into the bag to keep it fresh
- When it’s time to empty you just open the front closure and pull out the bag & replace it just like that
It’s definitely more simpler and more efficient than the Diaper Genie and I was surprised at how awesome it is. I’m so happy we got it!
Honestly, if you’re looking for a diaper pail, this one is it. It contains the smell, it’s easy to use, and works great. Does the job just right! It’ll definitely be at the top of my list of things to by my pregnant friends.
