Bookish Events – YA Panel at Hooray for Books

Last week I got to attend an event at Hooray For Books with some up-and-coming authors. It was such a fun time and I was so happy to meet Megan Shepherd, Lenore Appelhans, and Meagan Spooner, plus I saw Jodi Meadows again.

Not only was it a hilarious Q&A, I won a knitted flower from Jodi and got to hang out with a debut author and new friend, Ellen Oh. I loved learning more about their thought processes, the research they had to do for their books, what they’re working on now, what they think about their covers, and what they’re reading now.

Here, each other is reading a random page from each of their books, as suggested by fans who were there.

Of course, I had to get pictures with Megan and Lenore. I’m so mad I didn’t get a picture with Jodi, because I thought I already had one from the Books of Wonder event. ARGH! I have to get one the next time I see her, for sure!

Did you know Lenore is coming out with a children’s picture book with her husband? I saw the mockup and it looks so cute! I’ll definitely have to check that out for my little ones.

Let me tell you, I love this lady so much! Ellen is a real treat and I loved hanging out and chatting with her. I also managed to get her to sign my copy of Prophecy, yay! She totally teased me about how awesome Marie Lu’s 3rd Legend book is and how Marissa Meyer’s hair is super shiny. LOL! Love you Ellen!!!
